Boundaries

BE VIGILANT—SET LIMITS!

WATCH OUT AND SET BOUNDARIES!

In order to successfully set limitations for the family, awareness, communication, consistency, and self-care are required. If you have patience and put in the effort, you and your loved ones will be able to lead lives that are more meaningful and well-balanced.

It can be challenging to keep your sanity by correctly identifying who you are and what motivates you. Your principles and your priorities should never be compromised. The process of defining limitations is difficult. Make sure to replace "you" with "I" in all instances. Instead of saying something like "You always do this," try saying things like "I feel uncomfortable when this happens."

By establishing lines of communication about your sentiments in advance, you can assist a loved one in better understanding your boundaries.

Putting up boundaries does not mean exerting your will over other people; rather, it means taking charge of your own life. Ask for assistance when you are in a difficult circumstance or trying to establish boundaries with loved ones. It's possible that this will require our assistance.
