The Consequences of Being a "Commelian"

Have you ever been told that you exhibit traits of a "Commelian"? This term refers to someone who constantly tries to please everyone and changes their story or behavior depending on who they are interacting with. I encourage you to take a moment to reflect inwardly and reconsider what you are loosing by pretending to be something you’re not.. Remember that you were created by an omniscient God, and embracing your true self can lead to a more fulfilling and less stressful existence.

When I talk about becoming our God-given self, I am referring to embracing and embodying your true nature, talents, and purpose in life. This process involves self-discovery, personal growth, and aligning ourselves with our core values and beliefs. When you really find things that fulfil you, bring you happiness, and are free to be you true authentic.

You’ll likely find that life becomes easier and more comforting. By staying true to your values and beliefs, you can navigate with greater ease and confidence. Instead of constantly shifting your stance or trying to please others, embrace your unique identity and let it guide your actions. Pare of this is being a people pleaser which can be detrimental to one's mental and emotional well-being, as it can lead to feelings of resentment, anxiety, and depression.

Here are a 10 benefits to finding your authentic self:

1. Increased Self-Confidence: When you stop trying to please others and start living according to your own values and desires, you will feel more confident in yourself and your choices. You will no longer rely on the approval of others to feel good about yourself.

2. Improved Relationships: By setting boundaries and being true to yourself, you can attract people who respect and appreciate you for who you are. This can lead to deeper, more meaningful relationships.

3. Greater Authenticity: When you stop pretending to be someone you're not, you can embrace your true personality, values, and desires. This can lead to a greater sense of authenticity and self-awareness.

4. Increased Creativity: When you're not trying to please everyone, you can explore your own interests and passions without fear of judgment. This can lead to increased creativity and personal growth.

5. Better Decision Making: When you're not influenced by the opinions of others, you can make decisions that are truly in your best interest. This can lead to better outcomes in all areas of your life.

6. Reduced Anxiety and Stress: When you're not constantly seeking the approval of others, you can reduce your stress levels and feel more at peace with yourself.

7. Increased Self-Acceptance: When you accept yourself for who you are, flaws and all, you can develop a greater sense of self-acceptance and self-love.

8. More Time for Personal Growth: When you're not wasting time trying to please others, you can focus on your own personal growth and development.

9. Improved Communication Skills: When you set boundaries and assert yourself, you can improve your communication skills and learn how to express your needs and desires effectively.

10. A More Fulfilling Life: When you live according to your own values and desires, you can create a more fulfilling life that is true to who you are.

Most importantly at the end of each day, when you lay your head on the pillow, you can find peace in knowing that you have done your best. By staying true to yourself and avoiding confusing or contradictory behavior, you will rest more freely and can live a life filled with integrity and authenticity.
